The breed

Why Maine Coons

Gentle Giants

Known for their impressive size and remarkably gentle personalities — often twenty pounds of patience.

Distinctive Beauty

Luxurious water-resistant coats, expressive eyes, tufted ears and magnificent plumed tails.

Intelligent & Social

Affectionate, curious and highly interactive — they follow, they trill, they participate.

Our story

More Than a Shelter.
A Second Beginning.

Majestic Maine Coons Home exists to give Maine Coon cats safe, loving homes and compassionate care — however long that takes.

We take in surrenders, strays and cats from closed breeding programmes. Each one is vetted, groomed, socialised and understood before we ever consider a match.

Success stories

Happy Tails, Beautiful Beginnings

Elena & Thistle
“We were told Thistle was too fearful for a family home. She now sleeps between my daughters every night. The team prepared us for every step.”
Elena & Thistle · Adopted March 2025
The Harmon Family & Bear
“Bear is twenty-two pounds of pure devotion. Six months on, he still greets the school bus at the window like clockwork.”
The Harmon Family & Bear · Adopted November 2024
Marcus & Pepper
“After my wife passed, the house was unbearably quiet. Pepper filled it again — with trilling, with footsteps, with life.”
Marcus & Pepper · Adopted July 2024

Care guide

Caring for a Maine Coon

Grooming

Grooming

A Maine Coon's semi-long coat needs two to three sessions a week — more during seasonal moult.

Nutrition

Nutrition

Slow growth to full size takes four years. High-protein, portion-aware feeding protects joints.

Exercise

Exercise

Large, athletic and clever. Wand play, climbing shelves and leash walks keep them thriving.

Health

Health

Screening for HCM and hip dysplasia matters. Every cat leaves us vetted, chipped and neutered.

Enrichment

Enrichment

Puzzle feeders, running water, window perches and conversation — they are famously interactive.

Help Us Give More Cats a Second Chance

Fosters open their homes. Volunteers groom, socialise and drive. Donors cover the dental work, the ultrasounds and the long recoveries. Every part matters.
